Website Design
Website Design That Actually
Delivers.
When a website is really working, something magical happens. The whole team falls in love with it. People start having ideas. They hear the phone ringing. They see the leads coming in. They want to be part of it. That is what a successful website looks like. And it is what we build.
Things I hear all the time.
'We have got a website, Nick. It looks fine. But honestly, it never really does anything.'
'I have heard our competitors get leads from their website. Ours just sits there.'
'We spent good money on it a couple of years ago. I am not sure anyone has checked the enquiry inbox in months.'
If any of that sounds familiar, you are not alone. I hear it constantly. And every single time, it makes me a little sad — because the businesses saying it are brilliant at what they do. They just do not yet have the tools to show the world how good they are.
So — is your website working as hard as you are?
Your guide
I am not a developer. I am not a designer. I am a business owner who needed his website to work.
I am Nick Burrage. I have never written a line of code in my life. What I have always cared about is commercial results. I did not build a website because it made me feel good. I built it because it is how I grow my business. And I take exactly the same view with every client I work with.
A website is not an ornament. It is a hard-working business asset.
That philosophy is why I spent years carefully building a team of specialists in design, development, SEO, and AEO. And when I discovered the content framework built by Marcus Sheridan and the StoryBrand messaging framework, I knew I had found the final pieces of the puzzle. Building a truly powerful website stopped being an art and became a formula — one I can replicate, reliably, for every client we work with.

Content first. Always.
My personal role in every website we build is the content: the strategy, the messaging, the story. Getting that right is what most agencies skip entirely.
We do not just build. We think first.

Nick Burrage — 90 seconds
In 2026, website building got crazy. Hold on to your hat.
Last week I onboarded a new client onto our content programme. His website had just been delivered. He had spent $20,000 on it. It was entirely useless — not fit for purpose today, and certainly not ready for what is coming tomorrow.
It was a sad moment. And unfortunately it is not uncommon.
So here is what a truly great website looks like right now.
To avoid nightmare builds like this, you first need solid foundations.
Start with the end in mind. If you want to be found by Google and recommended by AI, you build against that goal from day one. You map your business against the real search intentions of your future clients. You line everything up before a single word is written or an image chosen.
This cannot be tacked on afterwards. It has to be built in from the very beginning.
The search landscape right now
1 in 4 people have already left Google. They are searching with AI instead.
'In the last eighteen months, huge numbers of people have migrated from Google to AI search tools. Many now let AI decide who to call, who to trust, and who to buy from.'
Your website needs to get cited by AI as a credible source — and be compelling enough that AI actively recommends you to its human owner. That is a specific challenge. We know exactly how to meet it.
With all this talk of AI, let us not forget the humans.
At some point in every buying journey, a real person lands on your website. It needs to be:
- ✅ Beautiful and immediately trustworthy
- ✅ Honest about who you are and what you do
- ✅ Engaging enough to make someone think: yes, these are the people I want to work with
Stock photography and vague corporate copy will not get you there. Authenticity will.

What drives the cost up?
Three things move a website investment toward the higher end:
Number of pages with a unique design
A site with ten custom page layouts costs more than one built around three or four templates.
Complex integrations
Connecting your website to a CRM, booking system, payment platform, or bespoke database adds real development time.
Design complexity
A highly bespoke, brand-led design with custom animations takes longer than a clean, structured build on a proven framework.

Please budget for photography.
Stock photography does not build trust. With humans or with AI.
One of the most powerful things a website can do is show people how your business actually works — your team, your premises, your work in progress, your finished results. Real photography does that. AI-generated images and stock photos do not.
If you are investing in a website built to perform, invest in images that show who you actually are. It makes a bigger difference than most people expect.
A website built properly brings your whole business to life.
In pure commercial terms, a great website — used alongside our content programme — will typically double the size of your business.
But it is bigger than sales.
Your team will be proud of it. Your brand values will sing from every page. Prospects checking you out will instantly know you are the real deal. And for our charity and non-profit clients, it becomes a rallying point for everyone who believes in the cause.
A great website does not just bring in business. It brings your whole organisation together.
TL;DR
Five services. One goal: grow your business.
Each service works on its own. But when they work together, something remarkable happens. Full details on our pricing page.
Do not just take our word for it.

Read this first
Before you hire anyone to build your website — including us.
I wrote this book so that business owners like you would know exactly what questions to ask, what to watch out for, and how to tell a great web agency from an expensive disappointment.
It covers everything — from planning your website and defining your audience, to the nineteen critical questions you should put to any agency before you sign anything.
It is free. Download the PDF below.
Read it before you spend a penny.
Questions we hear a lot.
How long does it take?
A typical website takes eight to twelve weeks from the start of our discovery process to launch. Complexity, integrations, and how quickly we can get the content right all affect the timeline. We will give you a clear picture of this before we start.
Who writes the content?
We do — but we need you. Our content team interviews you and your team, draws out what makes your business brilliant, and turns it into copy that works for your visitors, for Google, and for AI. You will review and approve everything before it goes live.
What platform do you build on?
We build on WordPress — the platform that powers forty percent of the internet. It is robust, flexible, and your team will find it straightforward to update. We train everyone who needs to use it before we hand over the keys.
What is included that most agencies miss?
The thinking. Most agencies start with design. We start with strategy: your audience, your search intent, your content structure, your AI readiness. By the time we get to design, the foundations are already solid. That is the difference.
What happens after launch?
We do not disappear. Optional hosting and maintenance packages mean we are always available when you need us. And because we still look after every website we have ever built, we have a very clear picture of what keeps a website performing over the long term.
How much does it cost?
A typical investment is between £10,000 and £20,000 / $12,500 and $25,000. Full pricing — including hosting, maintenance, and bundle discounts — is on our pricing page.
Any other questions? The best thing to do is have a conversation. It costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
Every month without a website that works is a month of leads going somewhere else.
Do not lose another sale.
Let us find out if we are right for each other. No pitch, no pressure — just an honest conversation about your business and what is possible. And if we are not the right fit, I will always point you towards someone who is.
